When you sign up for Skype a Scientist, we collect and store the information your provide for the purpose of making scientist/teacher matches. We also collect data about how you use the website, including your IP address, the time you visit, which browser you use.

We use your data to match scientists with teachers and to inform you of Skype a Scientist news

To match scientists with teachers - we will share contact and match information with the scientist(s) or teacher(s) that you are matched with
To share Skype a Scientists usage statistics - we may share de-identified and non identifiable usage information about Skype a Scientist in blogs, presentations, or interviews to promote Skype a Scientist.
With your consent - We will not share your personal information without your consent.
If we are compelled by law to share your information.
To third party services that we use to store data and send emails

HOW DO WE STORE AND PROTECT YOUR DATA?

We store your data in third party services provided by Google and Pythonanywhere, which protect your data using industry standard data protections. Only members of the Skype a Scientist team have access to these services. In the event of a data breach, we will notify all affected users as soon as possible

HOW LONG DO WE STORE YOUR INFORMATION?

We retain your information only as long as we need to use it to perform matches. We may retain your email address to send you reminders to sign up for the next match round. If you request, we will completely delete any data we have about you.

AGE LIMITATIONS

We provide services for teachers and scientists over the age over 18

This policy can change, but if we change this policy in a way that affect your data rights, we will notify you by email.
